Oftentimes we find that we have been away from the studio too long and sometimes feel unready or uncomfortable with just getting in there and creating. What we really need is a warm up! I liken it to those exercises we did before we went out and played a sport. We get ourselves ready to perform or create. I like to start with a pile of stuff--papers solid and print, little bits most people would have thrown away the last time they were used. Then go to work making small abstract images using what is in front of me. Here are three examples from Monday. Try it! It really works!
